Can You Sell Info Products On Instagram?

For aspiring digital entrepreneurs who don’t yet have the resources to launch a SaaS product, info products are maybe the next best thing. After all, you create the product once, and with the right systems in place, it will sell itself. People are always looking for education on a multitude of topics, so if you pick the right one, you can potentially make a lot of sales.

But of course, the entire process is easier said than done, and if you don’t have the resources to launch a SaaS, you likely don’t have much of a budget to market an info product, either. So, how can you build an audience that’s interested in your expertise, with minimal investment? That’s what I’m trying to figure out, using Instagram.

Social media giant Gary Vaynerchuk refers to social media as the “current state of the Internet,” and frankly, I agree. With billions of people using platforms like Tiktok and Instagram, there’s never been an easier way to get in touch with people across the globe. Instagram is heavily invested in growing the size of their user base, and with new changes like 60-minute Instagram videos, it’s clear to me that it’s a platform worth putting time into.

So, what’s the big plan? Before I can expect even a single person to buy my info product, I have to first become someone worth trusting. By providing value and educational content on Instagram, I believe I can grow an audience of thousands of people who might even purchase a course from me. Once my audience reaches 1000 followers, I’ll finally be ready to try validating my idea for a book.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am passionate about inspiring other people to learn programming. I’ve been programming since childhood, and have received incredible opportunities due to the skills I’ve developed. In such a fast-moving world, there’s nothing I want more than to see the people I care about receive opportunities of their own. If I can successfully grow my audience, I’ll try my hand at writing an eBook, and maybe even a video course, about learning to program, and how to use one’s coding skills to start businesses online for minimal cost.

Zero followers down, 1000 to go…

For now, though, I’ll have to start small. As you can see, I only have one post so far, and zero followers. If I want to succeed, I’ll have to try a lot harder. Once I reach my first milestone – 10 followers – I’ll write another update about my journey. In the meantime, follow my account here – @tobebuilds on Instagram.

So far, I’ve been watching lots of YouTube videos to learn how to properly grow on Instagram. One channel I highly recommend checking out is High Season Co. I’m not affiliated with them, but I believe Tiff and Craig have potentially the most informative videos about Instagram growth on the entire site.

Let me know in the comments what your experiences growing on Instagram were, or if you’ve had success on other platforms. I’m always excited to have a conversation with new people.
